1994年，处于北京市地理和政治边缘的宋庄承接起圆明园画家村解体的艺术资源，聚集起大量的艺术家，并在十余年飞速成长为国际闻名的艺术乌托邦——“中国·宋庄”。2012年，通州区被定位为北京副中心，宋庄地位水涨船高，本应迎来更光明的未来。 然而，随后十年间，宋庄却面临重重困境：美术馆被认定为违建面临拆除；艺术审查之下艺术家难以自由创作；房讼再起、地价房价飞升、教培直播等商业不断侵蚀原生态艺术氛围，艺术家用脚投票离开宋庄，艺术乌托邦的想象彻底破碎。 三十年的时间里，是什么力量让宋庄艺术乌托邦的发展从生到死？宋庄治理何以陷入重重困境？在文化强国、增强文化自信的宏观背景下，创意文化艺术区建设的前路又在何方？ 带着这些问题，我们一起走进这个破碎的艺术乌托邦。

英文摘要：

Since the arrival of pioneering Chinese contemporary artists in Songzhuang in 1994, the collaborative efforts of local township governments, artists, and villagers propelled "China·Songzhuang" to international recognition. In 2012, Beijing officially announced its intention to develop Tongzhou as an urban sub-center, elevating Songzhuang's status and placing high expectations on it as a window for showcasing modern art, not only in Beijing but also in China. However, over the subsequent decade, governance challenges plagued Songzhuang. In response, we aim to address two key questions through this case study: (1) How did Songzhuang develop and reach its "golden age," becoming a renowned artistic "utopia" celebrated both locally and internationally? (2) Why did Songzhuang's prosperity turn into decline, and how did this artistic "utopia" shatter, falling into a governance dilemma?
